Young Andi Schneider has taken his family’s winery in the Nahe to new heights. His greatest coup was the recent purchase of a small parcel of old vines in the grand cru vineyard of Felsenberg, made famous by the Grosses Gewachs of Donnhoff and Schafer-Frohlich. All of his wines are dry, moderate in alcohol yet phenolically and physiologically ripe. They share a delicious upfront fruitiness making them eminently drinkable, while also incorporating complex minerality and an excellent acid structure for longevity. The wines are vinified with spontaneous yeasts in large old oak barrels. A Crystalline Selection.
